KOGI STATE: 4 Farmers commit suicide over flood disaster

   Four farmers in Kogi have committed suicide due to the loss they suffered as a result of the flood that has also left many others displaced. The President who is currently touring this region as part of the areas affected by flood encouraged people not to give up saying that the Federal government has started plans to rehabilitate them.
   These farmers were said to have borrowed money from a bank to buy seeds that were destroyed by the flood. Out of fear of not being able to payback they committed suicide...this is sad :-(

BOKO HARAM : Group says they are not responsible for Mubi killings

   Speaking exclusively with 'premium times' a man who claimed to be a senior member of the group that has been responsible for most of the deadly attacks in recent times has said that his group was not responsible for the killings in Mubi. He said that they have no business with students or students politics,in his words...
  “We have no business with students or student politics. If students are our target we would have killed them randomly on sight and in their school and not sneak on them in the creeping darkness in an area occupied by both students and residents,”

    Now this leaves a big question of 'WHO'........naija!

UNIPORT: 12 Houses,Cars in Omuokiri-Aluu set ablaze

    Following the brutal murder of four students of UNIPORT, several houses and cars have been destroyed by supposed Students of the University that embarked on a protest yesterday. The protest that started in the early hours of the day as a march around Aluu Community was witnessed by men of the Police force. Violence however erupted late yesterday in the community which is said to have a high students population forcing the students to flee. The university itself has now been shutdown indefinitely.

Anti-Islam film culprit due in court next week

    The man behind anti-islam film that started violent protests in the muslim world is due to appear in federal court in LA next week. The california man who was on probation for a bank fraud conviction in 2010 will face a preliminary hearing on whether his probation terms were violated. Mark Basseley Youssef the 55years old man from egypt was released in 2011 from prison based on terms including a ban using alliases without permission from probation officer. The 13minutes video filmed in california that circulated online mocking the prophet mohammad caused violence in Egypt and other muslim countries.

Gunmen attack in Yobe

   A week after the independence day killing in Mubi Adamawa State where more than 40 students were killed by unidentified gunmen another tradgedy took place last weekend in Dokokuka village of Yobe State. The gunmen who were said to have been heavily armed raided the village at night shooting people. No group has claimed responsibility,the number of casualties is unknown and investigation is ongoing.

Justice for aluu's 4

..News from the commissioner of information for rivers state has confirmed that the govt of rivers state has issued an arrest for the people involved in the killing of 4 young men on oct 5th in aluu community. As at now the traditional ruler of Aluu in Ikwere local government area of Rivers state and 12 other indigenes of the town have been confirmed arrested by the police in connection with the killing. the police spokesman, Ben Ugwuegbulam also confirmed the arrests and that it was as a result of credible intelligence and video clips of the killings the police had.he further said that the suspects are now in detention and justice would be served.people of neighbouring villages have confirmed mass arrests by soldiers in aluu community and sirens blazing. Let us hope that this doesn't just die away with time..

ALUU's 4 -the truth?

    ..May the souls of the departed rest in peace.. *deep sigh* the whole media is buzzing with different versions of the story of 4 young men from uniport who were beaten and burnt to death.I decided not to post nything on this issue until I had gotten my facts right.Different versions have popped from people,blogs and all..even getting which is the real truth is difficult. On the 5th of october when this killing took place in aluu community, the story was that these guys were unarmed robbers who went to rob from the community..another story cameup saying that they were 5 armed guys and threw away the weapons while trying to escape (1 escaped).it was also said that they robbed a family man and raped his wife..another version was tipsy (ugonna) had an arguement with some guy that blew out of proportion

...And then came the story that they were cultists. I have tried to be in contact with some close frnds of the guys and although I AM NOT SAYING THIS IS THE TRUTH...this is what I got.

Ugonna (@tipsy_tipsy) and big L (@big_L16) were upcoming talented rappers, I got to listen to one of their tracks and I just went numb,they were talented. Unconfirmed reports say that the students of uniport have organised a raid on aluu community,I don't know how true but let us be rational on this issue.those young men could not have been reading in school or just strolling by and the villagers would attack.those were angry villagers. I am not saying the wicked manner in which they died was good,but let us not blow things in a way that more lives would be lost. Home training can never be over-emphsised.Only God knows what truly happened. This is a very sad thing and I pray God grants their families the strenght to bear their loss. They dint deserve death in that wicked manner :-(
